Principal’s Message
Dear PS/MS 114 Families,
Welcome to the 2026–2027 school year! I hope you and your families have enjoyed a wonderful summer and had an opportunity to relax, recharge, and make lasting memories together. As we prepare to welcome our students back, I am filled with excitement and anticipation for another great year at PS/MS 114 The Belle Harbor School.
As I begin my second year as Principal, I am incredibly proud of our school community and all that we accomplished together last year. This year, we will continue building a school culture centered on academic growth, confidence, and success for every student. We will continue our work with the HMH Into Reading and Into Literature literacy programs, while introducing our new iReady Classroom Mathematics curriculum to strengthen students' mathematical thinking and problem-solving skills. Just as importantly, we will continue to support our students' social-emotional development and help them develop the confidence and resilience they need to succeed both in and out of the classroom.
A strong partnership between home and school is an important part of our students' success. When families and educators communicate, work together, and share a common commitment to a child's growth, our students benefit. We look forward to continuing to work closely with you and keeping you informed and involved throughout the school year.
We are also excited to launch our new school website, psms114.org, which will serve as an important resource for families. Please visit the website regularly for important information, announcements, school events, and our calendar. We will also continue to use ParentSquare to communicate directly with families throughout the year.
Most importantly, I want every family to know that at PS/MS 114, we want every child to feel known, cared for, challenged, and supported. Our students deserve nothing less, and our dedicated staff works each day to create an environment where every child can learn, grow, and feel a strong sense of belonging.
We cannot wait to welcome our students back on Thursday, September 10th, and see the school come alive once again. I am excited about all that this new school year will bring and look forward to working together with our students, staff, and families to make 2026–2027 a wonderful year for our entire PS/MS 114 community.
